Synergizing Climate Action and Economic Empowerment: CSR Forum and MSME Market Session Convene in Palembang

Corporate Synergy and Village Empowerment through ProKlim CSR Forum and MSME Market Session

PALEMBANG, INDONESIA – 17 November 2025 — In a strategic move to integrate environmental sustainability with local economic growth, PT SUCOFINDO (Persero) hosted the "CSR Forum and MSMEs Market Session" at the Aston Hotel and Conference, Palembang. This event serves as a critical milestone for the "Strengthening Village-Based Climate Action and Livelihoods (ProKlim)" program in South Sumatra Province.   The ProKlim initiative is a flagship program of the Ministry of Environment (MoE), supported by UNOPS, designed to enhance climate resilience and reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the grassroots level. Following the project implementation phase from June to September 2025, this forum was organized to present progress and secure long-term sustainability through private sector partnerships.   Fostering Strategic CSR Partnerships The forum provided a platform for PT SUCOFINDO to comprehensively report on the project’s achievements to key stakeholders. A primary focus was outlining the mutual benefits for the private sector, specifically highlighting how CSR collaboration supports a sustainable supply chain and contributes to the Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER).   By aligning corporate social investment with verifiable climate outcomes, the program aims to secure non-governmental resources that ensure village-based initiatives continue beyond their initial phase.   Market Access for Climate-Resilient Products Central to the event was the Market Session, a specialized bazaar designed to provide market exposure for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) assisted during the ProKlim training. Representatives from 24 MSMEs showcased a diverse array of products, including:   Sustainable Textiles: T-shirt Ecoprint and various handicrafts from Musi Banyuasin.   Agricultural Goods: Coffee from Empat Lawang and Shredded Mushrooms from OKU Timur.   Eco-Friendly Innovations: Liquid organic fertilizers, "Mokusaku," and soap derived from Eco-Enzymes.   Traditional Food Products: Salted eggs, various kemplang crackers, and ginger candy from districts such as Banyuasin and Ogan Ilir.   During the session, MSMEs presented their Business Model Canvas (BMC) and participated in a "Product Pitching" segment to receive strategic feedback from potential corporate partners.   The event saw the participation of approximately 59 delegates, including representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the South Sumatra Provincial Environmental Agency, the Provincial MSME Office, and UNOPS. High-level CSR executives from major corporations, including PT ID SURVEY, PT Surveyor Indonesia and PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia, were also in attendance to identify potential collaboration opportunities.   Through this synergy, the ProKlim project seeks to transform local climate action into a sustainable economic model, ensuring that communities remain resilient while gaining access to broader market networks.
